 about us

Japanese_group_Amazake_shop06

We support cultural communities by

  • assisting them to make their own films about their own culture, as well as screening those films at events worldwide and on our website
  • sharing visual educational materials and resources from other cultures in assisting them to find solutions in the endeavors of others with similar problems
  • connecting them to other communities and enabling them to form new friendships and start collaborative projects through our screening events and our website
  • offering them a virtual place to communicate events and programs
seoul205

We’re bringing film to communities and strive to connect communities on a local and on a global level. Each film is accompanied by one or more charitable projects, that enable the audience to contribute directly to the project of their choice. The films all come with a package of cultural information that further expand on the film and its subject matter. Wherever we can, the films will be expanded into a community cultural event, where the audience member can meet members from other cultural communities, as well as get a taste of the food, art and music of the culture highlighted in the film.

The Skirball Cultural Center has established itself as one of the world's most dynamic Jewish cultural institutions, and among the most prominent cultural venues in the United States. Its mission is to explore the connections between four thousand years of Jewish heritage and the vitality of American democratic ideals. It seeks to welcome and inspire people of every ethnic and cultural identity in American life. Guided by our respective memories and experiences, together we aim to build a society in which all of us can feel at home.

The Skirball features an extraordinary museum, changing exhibitions, engaging music, theater, comedy, film, family, and literary programs, Zeidler's Café, and Audrey's Museum store, and a new interactive family destination inspired by the Noah's Ark story—all in a stunning architectural setting designed by renowned architect Moshe Safdie.
