 Programs

UM_cambodia1

Many of the films, feature films as well as documentaries and short films that we produce and support give students a look into a specific world culture or portray a person or project that aims to improves cross-cultural relations.

We connect charitable projects to our films and thus enable the viewer to get actively involved in improving our world and that of others.

We support our projects with a world of knowledge about the cultures portrayed in our films, which makes our films a perfect tool in education.

We supply each film with a study guide, compiled of several modules to choose from.

 Screenings

 KidDocs International

We bring world cinema films to school classes and campuses. In this phase of our organization’s development, we develop our programs tailor-made for your school. Become part of innovative new global programs for your curriculum.

 For educators

Already a 5-year phenomena, the annual film festival has brought numerous award winning short films from around the globe to schools and students on the islands of the Dutch Antilles. Now on request to schools in the USA. Email us for more info.

 For students

We highlight world cinema, also sometimes described as ‘foreign film’. We aim to make that term obsolete for you and your students in the hope that as we bring more films of other worlds to schools that the world becomes a more more familiar place for current and future generations.

From screenings for the classroom with or without study guides up to full-fledged cross-cultural campus events. Our study projects can include working on charitable projects as part of the curriculum.

We also organize film festivals for one or more days for students of all grades.

We connect you to teachers around the world and your students can participate in a variety of study projects with other students from around the globe.

Going to school is fun when Culture Wrap is on campus. We’ll bring you cinema with a global touch. From screenings for the classroom with or without study guides up to full-fledged cross-cultural campus events and film festivals. With movies, music, art, food and what not more. Freedom Writers Foundation

The movement was born in 1994 from a teacher's simple notion - inspire young, underprivileged students to pick up pens instead of guns. Since then the Freedom Writers Foundation has evolved into a renowned charitable organization led by Erin Gruwell, with the unwavering support of the original Freedom Writers. The Foundation is dedicated to replicating the Freedom Writers' success in classrooms across the country by equipping teachers with the tools they need to reach and empower their students.

FREEDOM WRITERS, the movie: Wach the trailer

movie_swank_freedomwriters

Based on real life experiences, teacher Erin Gruwell enters into Woodrow Wilson High School ill-prepared for the challenges of her at-risk students. Met with conflict at every stage she finally makes a connection with them through a discussion of The Diary of Anne Frank and encourages them to write their own daily journals. This inspirational story shows the ability of a dedicated teacher to truly change lives.

CONTRIBUTE:   Educational projects around the world

Help a child to an education through some of these projects:

There are many worthwhile projects around the world that support education for all. We can connect you to those schools and organizations around the world or you can support those projects in a variety of ways.

Some of the projects need financial support or school supplies. Other seek collaboration with teachers or offer student collaboration opportunities. They are all projects the students, parents and teachers can get involved in.

In many countries, education is difficult to get for children and adults alike and in most circumstances education forms a safe refuge from other hardships in their community . It is for this reason that we have included adult learning projects as well.

Sri Aurobindo School was started as a mission to impart technical knowledge along with functional literacy to uneducated youth of impoverished communities. It is our mission to enhance their occupational skills, promote self-reliance, and empower them economically so that they may take control of their lives.
Through this endeavor we are focused on progressively eliminating the practice of child labor in this community.
