Buddha’s Lost Children (remastered)
In 2007, we made a big impression with this beautiful Dutch documentary during the Oscar campaign in the United States.
Now, almost 20 years later, a remastered version is being released in the Netherlands, and with it, we simultaneously celebrate Culture Wrap's revival after 20 years. Visit our site regularly to see where Buddha's Lost Children will be showing soon.
In the rugged border region of Thailand's 'Golden Triangle', notorious for drug smuggling and ethnic mountain tribes, Buddhist monk Phra Khru Bah, once a successful Thai boxer, dedicates his life to underprivileged children.
On horseback, he travels through villages to bring healthcare and education where the government fails to do so. With his Golden Horse Temple, the so-called Tiger Monk built an orphanage, school, and hospital: a safe haven where the children see him as a shaman, father, and coach all in one.
Buddha's Lost Children is a unique and moving portrait of life in the Golden Triangle, and gives "practical" Buddhism a new meaning.
