The story of the blind dervish Bab'Aziz and his lively granddaughter Ishtar. Together they wander through the desert, in search of a great gathering of dervishes that takes place only once every thirty years.

The Band's Visit       2007

The eight Egyptian musicians of a police orchestra accidentally end up in a small village in the Negev Desert in Israel. Their performance was scheduled in another city, and without transport or a hotel, the band gets stranded at Dina's restaurant, who offers them lodging. Despite ethnic differences, the Egyptians find distraction and connection with the Israelis, driven by a shared melancholy.
